Description
Ushi‑Oni is a yokai from western Japan, said to appear along coastal areas and attack travelers walking on the shore. The reference illustration used for this piece shows a creature with the head of an ox and the body of a spider, its blue eyes giving it a uniquely eerie presence. This interpretation follows that traditional depiction, capturing the unsettling mixture of animal and monster traits.

牛鬼（うしおに）は西日本に伝わる妖怪で、海岸に現れて浜辺を歩く人を襲おうとするといわれています。 参考にした百怪図鑑の牛鬼は、頭が牛のようで体は蜘蛛、青い目が独特の怪しさを持っています。 本作ではその妖怪画のイメージに沿って、不気味で異形の存在感を再現しています。
