Description

This yokai is based on the traditional garment mukabaki, ceremonial trousers made from deerskin. In folklore, the garment is said to transform into a yokai, appearing draped over an ikou (clothes rack) with a head, arms, and legs emerging from the folded hakama. Its unusual form gives it a humorous yet uncanny presence, blending everyday objects with supernatural imagination.

袴（はかま）の妖怪は、衣桁（いこう）にかけられた行縢（むかばき）が変化したものとされ、 鹿の皮で作られた催事用の袴から頭や手足が生えているという、ユニークで面白い造形が特徴です。 日常の道具が妖怪化するという日本らしい発想が感じられる作品です。
