Description

Fukuro Mujina is a yokai known for carrying a large bag, appearing in old scrolls in two distinct forms: one wearing a charming mask and another showing its natural mujina face. While mujina are often depicted as male in folklore—much like tanuki—this particular yokai is an exception, traditionally illustrated in elegant kimono with a feminine appearance. This figure follows that classical depiction, incorporating both the masked and unmasked interpretations found in the original artwork.

袋むじなは大きな袋を持つ姿で知られる妖怪で、古い絵巻では可愛らしい仮面をかぶったものと、むじなの素顔のまま描かれたものの二種類が存在します。 一般的に擬人化では、タヌキは男性、キツネや猫は女性として描かれることが多いのですが、この袋むじなは例外的に美しい着物をまとった女性的な姿で表現されています。 本作では、その伝統的な妖怪画の描写に忠実に、仮面の有無の両方を取り入れています。
