Description
Tenjiku Tokubei was a real historical figure whose eccentric personality inspired Edo‑period kabuki and joruri plays. In these stories he appears as a rebellious sorcerer who commands a giant toad. Although not a yokai himself, the monstrous appearance of the toad made this an appealing subject to recreate as a figure.

説明
天竺徳兵衛は実在した人物で、その奇天烈な人物像から江戸時代の歌舞伎や浄瑠璃で 「蝦蟇の妖術使い」として描かれるようになりました。 本人は妖怪ではありませんが、蝦蟇の怪物的な姿が魅力的で、再現してみたいと思い制作しました。
