Description
Domyoji Gane is a yokai born from the legend of Anchin and Kiyohime, a famous tale connected to Dōjōji Temple. In the story, the bell becomes the site of tragedy when Anchin hides inside it, only to be burned along with the bell by Kiyohime’s wrath. Over time, the lingering resentment was said to transform the bell itself into a yokai. This piece captures that eerie origin while blending surreal and slightly comical elements, giving the bell a distinctive personality within the yokai procession.

道成寺鐘は、安珍・清姫伝説に登場する鐘が妖怪化した存在で、 物語の中では安珍が鐘に隠れたものの、清姫の怒りによって鐘ごと焼き尽くされてしまうという悲劇が描かれています。 その怨念が妖怪となったとされ、百鬼夜行にも登場します。 本作では、その由来の不気味さと同時に、どこかコミカルな雰囲気も感じられる造形に仕上げています。
