Description
Keman refers to a floral ornament offered to Buddhist deities, and this yokai is its tsukumogami. Its face resembles a carved decorative object, with the sculpted section appearing like a nose, while its body has the form of a beast. I enjoyed recreating this uniquely imaginative design characteristic of Kyosai.

華鬘とは、華で作られた髪飾りの意味を持ち、仏様に備える華飾り仏具で、この妖怪はその付喪神です。 顔が飾り物のようで彫り物部分が鼻に見えるこのキャラクター、かたや体は獣という風貌。 暁斎ならではの造形を楽しみながら作りました。
